Tractus Hires Michael Nicholas as Singapore Country Manager and Senior Manager for Economic Development Practice
Highly Experienced Asia Market Entry Strategist and Trade and Investment Manager Selected to Facilitate Next Level of Growth in the Region
SINGAPORE – Tractus Asia, a strategy and market entry consulting leader in Asia, today announced that it has appointed Michael Nicholas as its new Country Manager for Singapore and the lead for its Economic Development practice.
Based in Singapore, Michael will be responsible for managing customer and partner relationships with multinational companies active across the region, including managing a fast-growing portfolio of business with Indonesia and India-focused clients helping them to achieve their desired Asia-Pacific market expansion goals.
His role and responsibilities include building Tractus’ capabilities in Singapore to serve local and regional projects as well managing the expanding Economic Development practice. This is in response to a growing list of Southeast Asia and India-focused trade promotion and investment attraction programs.
Michael has more than 20 years’ experience in international business development, strategy and marketing. He has spent 10 years living and working in Southeast Asia and has also managed business development operations in India and China. As a management consultant, Michael worked with international companies and government agencies to help them manage their operations more effectively in Asia.
Most recently, Michael was a Senior Director with Trade & Invest British Columbia leading sector teams across 15 international offices in forestry and agri-food and supporting work on natural gas and mining. Before that, as the Director for India & Southeast Asia, he established a network of 3 offices in India and led a team of 15 managers advising corporate clients on their international business development efforts.
Singapore is the professional services hub for Southeast Asia and home to more than 5,000 regional headquarters of international companies. The city state ranks third, after London and New York, on the Global Financial Centers Index and has consistently topped the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index.

Michael has an MBA from INSEAD in France, where he focused on global strategy, international marketing and business in Asia, as well as a post-graduate diploma on Management in Asia from Simon Fraser University and a degree in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia.
