Chantaburi province, Thailand, 8 December 2017 – Tractus Asia’s Thailand office recently made donations of necessary school supplies to two underfunded elementary schools in Chantaburi province. Since its founding over 22 years ago, Tractus has been donating educational supplies, computers, libraries, playground and sports equipment, and other much needed resources to underfunded schools in the countries in which we operate. Tractus’ mission is to assist our clients to build and grow their business in Asia. We strongly believe the best way to build long-term sustainable development of the economies in which we have lived and worked for over two decades is to help educate the next generation. The foundation of a sustainable economy and civil society is a well-educated populace and we want to do our small part in developing it.

At the Wat Sato Noi School, a K-6 school of 83 students and three teachers, Tractus Thailand donated desktop computers, printers and sporting equipment as well as school uniforms and school supplies for each of the students. School Director, Nunthanit Ariyasach, said about 40 percent of the students at the school are from Cambodia. They have come with their parents who are migrant workers in the fruit and rubber plantations in the Chantaburi area. He noted, “the Cambodian children are some of the hardest working students in the school and are a role model for the others. They know they need to work hard for their future and to adapt themselves to the society and culture they are now living in and they see their parents are working hard to support them”.

At the Wat Tapon Yai School, an even smaller K-6 elementary school of 49 students and six teachers, the Tractus team donated books, book shelves, school bags, sports uniforms and sports equipment. Ms. Phornphen Kijphaibool, School Director, said “we are a very small school in the middle of nowhere and we do not have enough money to buy sufficient educational materials for our students. Thank you to Tractus today for the support with educational materials. Although our school is small, we are proud that our students scored above average of all schools results in Thailand on the National Test (NT) and Ordinary National Educational Test (O-NET). Although we are small, we try to provide our students with a quality education and we thank you for helping us do that”.

Dennis Meseroll, Executive Director, noted, “I’m very proud of our Thailand team. Every year they are tasked with identifying several schools that need support, coordinating with the school administration to understand what materials are most needed, purchasing them and making arrangements for our annual CSR and company team building activity. It is the most anticipated activity of the year when we all come together as a team to help students who are less fortunate than we are. The faces of the children say it all, it is a very personally satisfying activity for all of us”.

Mingkwan Chaiyapong, Financial Director, noted, “Education is the foundation upon which Thailand can continue to grow and prosper. We believe giving back in this manner will ultimately lead to more long-term sustainable growth for the country”.

Tractus welcomes our clients, partners, friends and family to participate in these activities when you are in the region or in other ways.
