COVID-19 has greatly diminished ASEAN’s average annual 5% plus GDP growth. Of ASEAN’s top 6 economies, Vietnam is forecast by the World Bank to be the only country that will experience a positive GDP growth rate in 2020. Despite these dire forecasts there is great optimism as ASEAN nations have effectively flattened the viral curve and are re-opening their economies.
