Construction Manager/Senior Engineer, Thailand

The Construction Manager/Senior Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering and construction aspects of an industrial project in Thailand for multinational clients. Its key responsibilities involve coordinating with clients and various stakeholders, managing the bidding process for contractors and suppliers, preparing budgets, ensuring adherence to technical requirements, implementing safety and quality control measures, supervising on-site activities, and ultimately delivering the project within the client’s budget and schedule requirements. Additionally, the role involves setting up and leading a Tractus construction management team, implementing management plans, fostering team spirit, and ensuring a safe working environment on site.

  • Set up and supervise a Tractus construction management team to implement the above scope of works.
  • Implement Tractus Management Plan.
  • Create team spirit and develop project staff.
  • Implement a safe working environment on site.
  • Oversee and administer the engineering and building contract for an industrial project in Thailand.
  • Coordinate with the engineering, project management and operations divisions of multinational clients to ensure that Tractus and service providers understand the technical requirements of the projects.
  • Help to identify service suppliers.
  • Coordinate the bidding process between the client and local Design Institutes, Equipments suppliers, and General Contracting companies.
  • Prepare budgets for the design, construction and equipment procurement for the project.
  • Manage the facility construction to meet client’s budget and schedule requirements
  • Control budgets, estimate variations and negotiate sub-contracts.
  • Implement company safety and QA/QC policies & procedures and ensure installation adheres to relevant standards.
  • Manage the supervision and control of all general site activities by contractors on site.
  • Review and oversee the QA/QC & safety policies of all contractors/suppliers associated with the project.
  • Close out project with relevant inspection and documentation reports to relevant standards and to full satisfaction of customer.
  • Thai or Chinese national age range between 35-50 years old. Consideration may be given to qualified expatriates.
  • Engineering degree in appropriate field. General knowledge of all trade disciplines is a must and some knowledge of industrial process works is an advantage.
  • Must be fluent in Thai, Chinese and English (oral and written).
  • Trade background, with minimum 5 years experience as a Project Manager.
  • Experience of managing and coordinating sub contractors, including specialist installations.
  • A strong leader with sound management and development skills.
  • Working knowledge of international codes and standards.
  • Excellent planning and programming skills.
  • Good administrative and IT skills, computer literate in MS Office & Project.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety rules & regulations.
