Consulting Manager (India Office)

Economic Development – FDI attraction strategies, trade promotion, and advisory to governments and multilateral organizations.

Strategy & Execution – Market opportunity assessments, site selection, and commercial operations setup.

We are seeking a Consulting Manager with strong business development capabilities and extensive experience supporting private-sector clients with market entry, market surveys, site selection, and Greenfield project management.
The ideal candidate will also bring strong networks and hands-on experience engaging with government bodies, trade agencies, and industry associations—both in India and internationally.

This person will lead high-impact consulting teams, manage client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of Tractus Asia’s consulting practice.

Location: Preferably Delhi–NCR (flexible for the right candidate)

Business Development & Client Growth (Primary Focus)

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand Tractus Asia’s private-sector practice in India and across Asia.
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients, industry leaders, government agencies, investment promotion organizations, and trade associations.
  • Identify, pursue, and convert new opportunities into long-term consulting engagements.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to position and market Tractus Asia’s services.

Private Sector Consulting Delivery

  • Lead consulting engagements focused on market entry, market and competitive assessments, regulatory analysis, and commercial feasibility studies.
  • Drive location strategy and site selection projects, including cost benchmarking, labor analysis, logistics and supply chain evaluation, and incentives negotiation.
  • Oversee Greenfield implementation projects—from feasibility and investment structuring to vendor coordination, construction oversight, and operational launch.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, accurate, and strategically relevant outputs.

Leadership, Networks & Practice Management

  • Assign resources and supervise consulting teams to deliver on time and within profitability targets.
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level consultants.
  • Leverage existing networks and sector relationships to support both business development and project execution.
  • Actively contribute to global practice management and cross-office initiatives.

Experience

  • Demonstrated success in business development and selling professional services.
  • Established networks and direct experience working with government bodies, trade promotion agencies, and industry associations in India and abroad.
  • Prior experience in market entry, market research, site selection, or project execution, ideally within a boutique or specialized consulting firm.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant consulting/business advisory experience, including 5+ years in a management role.
  • Must have lived or worked in India for at least 5 years.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university; honors preferred.
  • Advanced degree in business, economics, engineering, management, or equivalent experience is an advantage.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and Hindi.
  • Additional languages (Spanish, French) are an advantage.

Personal Attributes and Other Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in market analysis, financial analysis, and project management.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with analytical and design software is a plus.
