Tractus Global
INDIA, Delhi, August 25, 2022 – Tractus Asia is proud to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the founding of its India office in 2012. In celebration of this milestone, Tractus would like to share with its members the achievements and challenges of the last decade, while also looking ahead to future opportunities for growth.
Since the early days of Tractus’ establishment in Asia, India has been a focus country for its wealth of opportunities. Tractus began helping a handful of companies establish their industry in India 20 years ago, but it was not until 2012 when they incorporated and established an office in southern India that they truly gained their footing. In the last decade, Tractus has expanded their reach across India, helping more multinational companies invest and grow their businesses country-wide. “The last two and a half years have been bumpy with Covid lockdowns, but they have shown us new ways of working remotely from home,” said India Country Manager Nalin Patel. Consequently, the office now has experts working remotely in Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai. As they grow, they will continue to expand and establish a pan-India presence.
In the ten years since opening, Tractus’ India office has executed dozens of projects for market entry, distributor and partner search, and site selection. Furthermore, they have performed due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and management advisory. As part of their Economic Development division, they have had the opportunity to serve public sector clients in Trade and FDI, including the states of Washington, New Jersey, Colorado, and New York, as well as Invest Toronto and Invest in Basel. This has included managing trade and investment missions, including governor-led missions, to India from U.S. states and European economic development organizations.
Tractus prides itself on its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to give back to disadvantaged communities in the countries where Tractus’ offices are based. The India office has supported schools across Tamil Nadu which provide education to children from low income and ethnic minority communities. Tractus annually visits these schools to distribute school supplies and sports gear, in addition to funding the construction of needed facilities, including water storage and filtration, modern bathrooms, and the construction of a multi-purpose activities and dining hall in the remote area of Yercaud, a hill station in South India.
Reflecting on 10 years of progress, Tractus Asia Managing Director John Evans owes it all to the team. “Our country manager in India, Nalin Patel, has built a world-class team that is small but mighty. On behalf of our clients, they have accomplished remarkable achievements in a hard to operate environment. We are all extremely excited to continue building our team and capabilities to better serve our clients, as the Indian economy continues to grow and offers global companies some of the best opportunities for trade and investment in the next decade.”
Remembering Tractus’ first CSR initiative in 2013 in Tamil Nadu.
